Yesterday, I finally surrendered to my friend’s week long insistence to watch this movie called Ezra. As the film was in Malayalam, a south Indian language which I absolutely had no clue about, I entered the movie theater with zero expectations and a minimum hope of at least finding English subtitles to understand the film. However, to my utter dismay the film turned out to be a horror flick and that too without subtitles!
Thankfully my friend did a great job of a translator.
A still form La la Land
Duration: 2h 8m
Genre: Musical, Drama, Romance
Director: Damien Chazelle
Cast: Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, John Legend
The new live in action version of the movie is all set to release in March, 2017 and while I eagerly look forward to watch this movie, I had to go back and watch the 1991 film again. This film was more of gift from Disney to an entire decade of kids. From its songs to the characters and talking household objects, everything was so enticing!!
Beast’s transformation scene from Beauty and the Beast (1991)
Duration: 1h 50m
Genre: Fantasy, Romance
Cast: Angela Lansbury, Robby Benson, Paige O’Hara and Richard White
This is the same movie which was later turned into the so called ‘life-changing’ book by Rhonda Byrne. The book was a massive hit and it continued to be on the top of the non-fiction best sellers for years. But, before the book came out, a film was made on the same whose story idea was given by Byrne herself.
The Secret (2006)
Yet another personal favourite of mine. (may be partially because it starred RDJ! 😉 ) But, the film lost its glory in the minds of the audience as the years passed making it one of the most underrated films of 90s. This film also saw RDJ at his best (while he was still young and in his 20s) before he got into legal issues due to substance abuse.
A still from Chaplin (1992)
